Here's a map of my and John's evening of pedaling-and-socializing followed by a mile-based list of our adventures (click for larger view):

mile 0-1: witness a minor car accident; stop to give our name and phone numbers to the very grouchy woman and the very sweet apologetic kid who pulled out in front of her.

mile 2-3: navigate the racist geographies of north champaign (train tracks, no outlets, etc.) backtracking necessary.

mile 3: stop at Sea Boat, home of tasty catfish and fried chicken to pick up chicken

mile 7: arrive at gathering number one, English grad student association potluck with chicken in tow

mile 9: arrive at gathering number two, outdoor screening of Godzilla

mile 11.8591: home.
