The book itself is still a few months out, but here is the cover. I think the graphics designer at U of South Carolina Press did a great job. As it turns out, the cover is the same color I painted the walls of the office where I wrote most of it.

The cover looks way cool! Congrats on the progress! :)

Debbie: what an awesome cover! The body reminds me of that of the robot in Metropolis, which is a great film. And what an amazing achievement. You are by far the youngest person I have ever known with two books.

thanks! the image is a drawing by Oskar Schlemmer, a german artist of the Bauhaus school. The designer went with the Bauhaus style for the rest of the cover, which is why it's so lovely (I think so at least). Getting the permission involved quite a bit of wrangling though. Oh! And the title of the drawing, I found out while securing permission, is "dematerialization." The irony.
