The only thing more difficult than writing a great transition is summoning the energy to write past that transition.
[UPDATE Later that same day*]:
Staying on task is also difficult. I try to do this by keeping little cryptic to-do lists and drinking gingko tea. Right now my list says:
- fix katharsis jumble
- decide! where is this going? maybe just start all over here.
And my teacup is empty.
Relatedly, though, a sentence-and-phrase junkyard (a word document that's always open) is a must. Who knows what I will find in there?
RE-READING IS NOT DRAFTING.
*thank you, MIDMODERN SCHOLAR.
